Roy R. Rice III (Tripp) is a third generation prosthetist, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather for more than 25 years. Prior to opening Augusta Orthotics and Prosthetics (AOPI), Tripp was one of the top practioners for Atlanta Prosthetics/Nova Care. Since 1999, Roy has enjoyed the benefits of providing each patient entrusted to our care with the best possible rehabilitation solution for his or her capabilities, lifestyle and vocational aspirations.

Kenneth Collier, LO, CO

Ken has more than 20 years experience in the O & P industry.   Ken graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1989 with bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and statistics. While an undergraduate , he worked for Duramed in the DME industry. This experience prompted further education at Shelby State, where he completed the certification program for orthotics in 1991. Ken joined AOPI in 2001 and is an indispensible member of our team.

Adam Trefethren, CP

Adam was born and raised in Minnesota. Beginning his education as an engineering major, Adam quickly switched to prosthetics. While in school, he gained more experience working as an OttoBock technician for three years. Adam earned his technician certification in 2005 from Century College and his Bachelor of Prosthetics in 2008 from Metropolitan State.   He joined AOPI in 2009.

Roy R. Rice Jr. (Butch), began his career as a Prosthetist in the Atlanta area in the 1960’s. He completed the certification program through Northwestern University.   Butch moved to Augusta in 1967, to open Atlanta Prosthetics, Inc. He served the Augusta area until 1998, when the company was sold to Nova Care. Butch brings over 50 years of knowledge and experience to our team.

Laura Smith – Billing Specialist

Mrs. Smith joined the AOPI team in July 2013.  She has 35 years extensive background in Medical billing especially in DME.  She has vast knowledge on the workings of the insurance companies.  She also is here at AOPI to assist patients in understanding their insurance and benefits.  Laura’s education  & memberships- Core study/ Health Care Management – Payer Relations Committee – Secretary Durable Medical Equipment Regional Carrier (Medicare) – Supplier Advisory Council – Member

Michael Ray Rice – Prosthetic Technician

Michael Ray Rice joined AOPI in 2013.  He has an abundance of experience (more than 25 years)  in prosthetics and prosthetic fabrication.  His knowledge in the field was also gained from his grandfather and father.
